Else Hurup Petersen Schmidt passed away May 17th, 2002 at the age of 93. Else was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, but lived the last 40 years in San Leandro before moving to Bethesda Christian Home in Hayward where she died. To friends and family she was affectionally known as "Farmor". She is survived by her son Kell, her daughter-in-law Billie, Grandson Kell, his wife Pamela and their children Erik and Jaclyn of Reedley, California; Grandson Jim of San Leandro, his wife Carrie and his children, Jamie and Bradley. A private memorial service was held. Else is interred at The Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland along with her husband Svend Erik whom she survived by thirty years. "Farmor" will be greatly missed.
