OBITUARY FROM THE WATERLOO DAILY COURIER, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1964 (Modified somewhat by Deane Waldon)
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Waldon, 72, of 618 West Third Street, Waterloo, will be tomorrow at the First Methodist Church, pastor Dr. Floyd Hinshaw officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetary.
Mrs. Waldon died Friday, at 3:40 PM at Schoitz Memorial Hospital from complications of leukemia.She was born July, 8, 1892, at Dexter (Mower County), Minnesota, the daughter of Asben and Mary (Fuller) Rolfson. She married Roscoe French in 1910 They were later divorced. On February 24, 1926, she married Charles H. Waldon at Independence, Iowa.
Mrs. Waldon was a member of the First Methodist Church, the WSCS of the church, The Get-Together Club of the church and the Temple Rebecca Lodge No. 54.
Surviving are three children; Milo (Armilda) French, 150 Riehl Street, Gordon (Beulah) Waldon, 136 Summit Avenue and James (Elaine) Waldon, Horicon, Wisconsin; one stepson, Harley (Pauline) Waldon, RR 2, Cedar Falls and a stepdaughter, Violet Waldon of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. P.A. Ulland, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota; three brothers, Roy and Earl Rolfson, both of Browndale, Minnesota, and Merrill Rolfson of Austin, Minnesota; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and one half-sister.
Friends may call at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home from 11:00 AM, Sunday, until 10:00 AM, Monday, and at the First Methodist Church from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM. The casket will not be open following the service. Friends who wish may give memorials to the First Methodist Church.
