Biografi for: Mary Ann Adams
Mrs. Geer, 60, died Wednesday May 20th, 1987 in the Fort Belknap Hospital of cancer.
She was born in Fort Belknap, a daughter of Charles C. Adams (1881-1959) and Genevieve (Healy) Adams (1888-1981.) She was raised on a ranch near Dodson and attended Dodson Schools. She graduated from Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kan., and then lived in California for several years. On June 14, 1954, she married Harry L. Geer in Pocatello, Idaho. They moved to Fort Belknap in the fall of 1960.
Mary Ann Geer worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Fort Belknap from 1961-1971 and then owned Mary's Dress Shop at the Fort Beknap Shopping Center from 1974 until retiring in 1979. She was active in fund raising for the needy and enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James Swanson of Washigton; a daughter Kim Geer of Great Falls; two brothers, John "Jiggs" Adams and James Adams, both of Dodson; a sister, Genevieve "Ducky" Hack of Pacifica, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
