Arthur Rasmus Larsen September 15, 1915 - July 15, 2004
Arthur, known as "Papa" by his grandchildren, passed away after a yearlong struggle with Lymphoma/Leukemia at the age of 33. He was born in Dagmar, Montana, and migrated to Martinez, California in 1936. Art was a member of the Carpenter's Union in Martinez for 54 years, and he enjoyed woodcraft, bocce ball, golf, travel, and his family.
Arthur was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Alta Larsen; his loving companion, Elsie Gorshe; and his brothers, Ted, George, and Lawrence Larsen. He is survived by his loving companion, Arlene Pettit; his sister, Cora Anderson, and brothers, Richard Larsen, Leonard, Allen, Maynard, and Marlin Lyson; his daughter, Shirley Peterson and her husband William of Martinez; son, Marvin Larsen and wife Susan of Berkeley; his grandchildren, Susan Trebino and husband Robert and Terri Adamo and husband Louis of Martinez, Kenyon Larsen and wife Cynthia of Alexandria, Virginia, and Stephen Larsen of Portland, Oregon; and his great-grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Trebino and Matthew Hammond of Martinez, and Julia and Skyler Larsen of Alexandria, Virginia; and his extended family, Jennifer, Mike, Tami, and Sean Mann.
Funeral will be at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, on Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at I lam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you give a donation to your favorite charity or church. Oakmont Mortuary (925) 935-3311
