Charley Andersen FREEMAN, S.D.
Funeral 'services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church for Charley Andersen, 89, former Freeman resident who died Sunday at a Yankton hospital. Mr. Andersen was born April 8, 1883 at Chicago. He married Mary Jensen June 29, 1906, at Parker. He farmed in the Freeman area most of his life. He was living at a nursing home in Yankton at the time of his death. Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Vet Farmington, and Mrs. George Smith, Freeman; a son, Carl, Freeman; a brother, Eddie, Yankton: six grandchildren land five great-grandchildren. Charley Andersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Carrie Andersen, was born April 8, 1883, In Chicago, Ill. He passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 1973, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD., at the age of 89 years and 10 months. He was baptized in November of 1923 and was received as a member of the Salem Lutheran Church by Rev. O. H. Brodland.
He was united in marriage to Mary B. Jensen on June 29, 1900. Three children were born to this union - Carrie, Carl and GoIdie.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife Mary, his daughter Carrie Vetter of Farmington, Mich., son Carl and daughter Goldie of Freeman, S.D., and one brother Eddie of Yankton, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three brothers, Proven, Willie, Arnie; four sisters, Gusta, Vilda, Rosie, Daisy; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
