Biografi for: Karen Marie Pedersdatter

Last Monday, February 12th, 1917, Karen Marie Andersen departed from this world. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Westergaard. Her health had ebbed away for several weeks, so her death did not come entirely unexpected.
She was born in Denmark, August 12th, 1848. With her husband, Carl Andersen she imigrated to the United States 44 years ago, and resided in Chicago for several years, but since 1883 they have made their home in Spring Valley. To her and her husband, Carl Andersen were born ten children in their wedlock, two of whom died years ago as well as her husband, but eight are still living in this community, namely four sons, Preben, Willie, Charley and Eddy Andersen, and four daughters: Mrs. Martin Christensen, Mrs. Chris Andersen, Mrs. Lars Christensen and Mrs. Peter Westergaard and they all mourn the loss of their dear and beloved mother. All the children and a number of grand children as well as several hundreds of relatives and friends were present at the funeral, which took place at the West Swan Lake Lutheran church Feb. 14th to pay their tribute of honor to the beloved and esteemed mother and friend. Rev. Th. N. Jersild officiating.
Blest be her memory.
