Biografi for: Robert Nielsen
Funeral services for Robert Nielsen were held August 8. Pastor Carlton Olson officiatied at the service at the First Congregational Church in Plentywood. Interment was in Nathanael Cemetery at Dagmar. Mr. Nielsen, 65, died August 6 at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls.
Pallbearers were Vyrion Larsen, Dennis Nielsen, Gregg Nielsen, Nick Nielsen, Alvin Petersen and Dale Thomas.
Born at Dagmar, December 3, 1921 he was a son of Piet and Kristina Nielsen. He grew up there, attended rural schools and married Luella Larsen at Plentywood December 31, 1941.
They farmed in Dagmar until 1952, when they moved to Plentywood, where they operated Bob & Lou's until 1969.
Although retired he remained active in the business and enjoyed pouring coffee at the Deli.
He was very active in softball. For many years he sponsored, coached and managed both men's and women's softball teams and since moving to Great Falls in 1984 he became a Great Falls Dodgers fan. He loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren.
He was baptized and confirmed at Nathanael Lutherarn Church at Dagmar.
Surviovors include his wife Luella of Great Falls, four sons, Sheldon Butch, and Gordon both of Plentywood. Dean of Great Falls and Ross of Missoula, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Lillie, Mrs. Ted Larsen of Clear Lake Oaks, California.
Besides his parents, be was preceded in death by three brothers. Einer, Morris and Henry and by two sisters, Esther Barreth and Rose Jensen.
