Phyllis Jean Mueller, 86, Minot passed away June 19, 2017, in the care of Trinity Homes. Phyllis was born Aug. 11, 1930, to William and Emma (Erb) Sorenson in Roseglen. After graduation from Ryder High School she was joined in marriage to Donald Mueller Aug. 4, 1948. Together they worked tirelessly on a family farm and for the Ryder school while rearing four children: Khylene, Keven, Kirby and Darik. In these years, Phyllis speared efforts to document Ryder's history and start the Ryder Museum. She moved to Bismarck and served as women's dorm mother at Bismarck State College from 1982-85. After moving to Salem, Ore., Phyllis served as the Pi Beta Phi house mother at Willamette University from 1986 to 1998. She audited many classes, volunteered at the local Women's Crisis Center and devoted herself to the growth of her charges during this time and was showered with their love and devotion in return. In retirement she lived in several Oregon cities, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Bismarck gathering friends wherever she went. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Emma; her siblings, Earl, LaRayne and Maxine; and her daughter, Khylene. She is survived by her sons, Keven, Kirby and Darik; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She hoped to be remembered fondly in the hearts of all the many lives she touched and wanted no remembrance services. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Ryder Museum or American Cancer Society. Those wishing to sign an online register may do so at www. thompsonlarson.com.
