Henry Franklin, Retired Cafe Operator, Dies.
Henry D. Franklin, 69, retired cafe operator and resident of 301 Cedar, died at 5:15 this morning at the Cass County Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health for seven years and a patient at the hospital since Friday.
Mr. Franklin was born in Goehner, Neb., Aug. 18, 1003, the son of Oliver and Lydia Blighton Franklin. He was married to Mabel C. Nelsen in Omaha Dec. 24, 1943, and they lived in Alliance, Neb., prior to coming to Atlantic in 1945.
Surviving are his widow, four daughters, Irene Mae Weldin of Las Vegas, Nev., Marlene Ann Cummins of Council Bluffs, Betty Purscell of Council Bluffs and Katherine Kuster of Adair; a sister, Mrs. Belle Conley of Alliance, Neb.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Roland Funeral Home, with Rev. Allen E. Hermeier of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.
The family will meet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday.
